GRADUATE SCHOOL SUPPORT

Current and prospective CSULB students (including alumni and community members) who have questions about graduate school or the graduate school application process may connect with a member of the Graduate Center team through Drop-In Sessions or by securing an appointment. In both environments, individuals can receive feedback on statements and résumés/CVs, learn ways to secure funding for a graduate education, and talk about ways to stand out to the admissions committee.

Note: The Graduate Center does not offer program-level academic advising for current students (e.g., course registration, course scheduling, graduation requirements). For such advising, contact the department office and/or graduate advisor.

Current CSULB undergraduate and graduate students who have questions about graduate programs and application process (be it at CSULB or elsewhere) are encouraged to (1) visit the Graduate Center during Drop-In Advising hours or (2) use BeachConnect to schedule an appointment with the Graduate Center using the link below:

Cancellations: If you cannot keep an appointment, please cancel the appointment at least 24 hours in advance if possible.

  • Please be courteous to other students by planning ahead and canceling or rescheduling in a timely fashion. Doing so will help open up time slots for other students.
  • Currently enrolled CSULB students: Please cancel/reschedule via Beach Connect
  • Prospective students: Please cancel/reschedule via the YouCanBookMe calendar tool or by emailing the Graduate Center: GraduateCenter@csulb.edu

Late Arrival: Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in the cancellation of your appointment.

No-Shows: Skipping appointments without canceling 24 hours in advance may result in restrictions on your ability to reserve future appointments.

Accommodations: Please contact the Graduate Center at GraduateCenter@csulb.edu to request any accommodations if needed.

If you would like your graduate school application materials (statement of purpose, CV/résumé) to be reviewed via email, please submit a Program Materials Feedback form and allow up to 2-3 weeks to receive a response. Note: The Program Materials Feedback service is for well-developed materials, not first drafts. If you need help getting started with your materials, or have questions about what the expectations are, please visit this page on statements of purpose or this page on CVs/résumés
