Georgia Griffiths’ first job was at Hughes Aircraft as its third female engineer ever hired in Fullerton. From Hughes she went to TRW and worked as a product manager in Chicago, later returning to San Diego. She became TRW's highest ranking woman manager. When that unit of TRW was sold to a Japanese firm, she was informed that their corporate culture did not allow women in management and she would have to return to the technical ranks. She has also served in positions at Continental Controls (1981-1983), Solar Turbines (1983-1984), Compusec (1984-1988), Georgia Griffiths and Associates (1988), and G2 Software Systems, Inc. (1989-present).

In 1989, she developed G2 Software Systems, Inc., the first woman-owned defense contractor business in San Diego, where she serves as President and CEO. Over the past 20 years, G2 has been recognized with numerous awards, such as: SAIC Subcontractor of the Year, CSC Subcontractor of the Year, and Lighting Bolt and Excellence awards from the Navy. The company’s clients include Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, the Program Executive Office for C41 and Space, and the Department of Defense, among others.

Georgia serves on the boards of Women in Defense and Angel Flight West and also works with the San Diego Humane Society and the San Diego Zoological Society. She is an airplane pilot and an active member of Angel Flight as a mission command pilot. She has been honored with the Women Who Mean Business award (2013) and as the Most Admired CEO for Large Privately Held Companies by the San Diego Business Journal; Athena San Diego’s Pinnacle Award (2014) for Technical Excellence; and the inaugural Plankholder Award from Women in Defense (2016).

Georgia earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from California State University Long Beach, where she was a member and past president of Gamma Phi Beta sorority; Mortar Board Honor Society member and past president; and little sister to Kappa Sigma. Ms. Griffiths is the 2008 Distinguished Alumni for the College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics.
