Andrea Taylor, CEO

A graduate of California State University, Long Beach, and a former Director of Development for the CSULB College of Health and Human Services, Andrea Taylor returned to her alma mater in 2006 when she was appointed by former CSULB President F. King Alexander as Vice President of University Relations & Development. In this role, Taylor is responsible for the overall management of a multifaceted advancement operation that raises more than $30 million annually; an alumni affairs department that serves more than 300,000 graduates; and public affairs and publications programs that handle a wide range of advocacy, media, and communications projects.

Under Taylor’s leadership, the university successfully completed its first major fundraising campaign, DECLARE: The Campaign for CSULB, in 2015. The campaign surpassed its original goal of $225 million and went on to raise a total $238 million. In 2012, Taylor launched the CSULB 49er Foundation, an entity dedicated to promoting philanthropy and to managing the university’s donated resources and growing endowment; she currently serves as the foundation’s CEO. Taylor’s division received the CASE Circle of Excellence Award for Outstanding Performance in 2009 and the CASE Educational Fundraising Award in 2015. Other honors include Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. 

Previously, at the University of California, Irvine, Taylor served as Executive Director of Development for Health Sciences and Assistant Vice Chancellor for UCI’s $1-billion campaign.       

A member of the CSULB Alumni Association, the President’s Associates, and Women and Philanthropy, Taylor served as the Chair of the CSU Vice Presidents for Advancement Council and as Vice Chair of the CSULB Foundation.
