The State of Beach Athletics
LB Nation,
I hope you all are staying safe and are maintaining your health in these uncertain times. The last few weeks have been some of the toughest in my 20+ years in college athletics, and while the decision to not finish out athletics competition this season has been difficult on all of us, I hope you all understand our number one concern is the health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and team personnel. My heart aches for our teams, especially our seniors, but the ongoing threat of COVID-19 continues to evolve by the hour, and as seen by recent events, necessary precautions continue to take place not just nationally, but globally.
You fans are the lifeblood of our programs and your ongoing support in these strenuous times is vital to our student-athletes and coaches. I want to thank those of you who have reached out over the last few weeks. As our program continues to navigate these unchartered waters and figures out our βnew norm,β we appreciate the kind words and support.
Adversity brings the opportunity for us all to band together as #LBNation and push forward. While our student-athletes may not be able to compete for our fans, we can all carry that passion and intensity into a successful 2020-21 season.
In addition, I would like to personally invite you to a virtual 'State of the Department' on Tuesday, April 14th at 5:30pm via Zoom. See the bottom of this page for the information to access.
Thank you for your continued support and pride in Beach Athletics. Today more than ever we must be there for one another. I am so proud to be a part of this family and I am confident the future is bright.
Go Beach!
