Updated guidance on travel

Published June 17, 2021

Dear Faculty and Staff:

The CSU system has relaxed its general travel restrictions introduced during the pandemic. I am now prepared to do the same for our campus.

Effective 7-1-2021 travel may resume following these pre-trip approval guidelines:

  1. Travel within California may be approved by the Manager and/or ASM.
  2. Travel outside of California but within the United States must be approved by a Dean or Associate VP.

Exceptions to these approval requirements are:

  • Travel to AB 1887 prohibited states, where legislative exceptions are met, which requires level VP approval.
  • Travel to AB 1887 prohibited states, where legislative exceptions are not met, requires the President’s approval.

International travel requests will be routed to the divisional Vice President for recommendations. I will review those recommendations and make the final approval.

Specific questions about this travel guidance and restriction should be addressed to your immediate supervisor and/or college dean or associate vice president.
