I'm a proud member of the Honors Program, where I challenge myself academically and contribute to a community of motivated students. Beyond the classroom, I support first-year first-generation students as they adjust to college life as a Genexcel Peer Mentor. I'm also the Social Media Administrator for the Criminal Justice Student Association, where I help promote events and share resources with other students. This year I have also experienced being a Resident Assistant interacting with residents to provide a healthy and welcoming living space. I hope to inspire peers, foster a sense of community, and develop as a leader both on and off campus through these roles. I have a passion for the criminal justice system and hope to grow both professionally and personally throughout my academic career. |

| Hometown – Long Beach Fun Fact – I have a deep love for K-Pop, Brazillain Jiu-Jitsu, Muay-Thai and the great outdoors. Bio – Hello there! My name is Nelson and I am a senior at California State University, Long Beach. I am scheduled to graduate in the Fall semester of 2026. This campus is a second home to me. I spend more time at the campus than I do at home, so the people I encounter feel like a whole separate family. Since the beginning of my transfer, I have served as a public speaking consultant for the Hauth Center, and university representative through the Presidents Ambassador program. I have grown so much during my time here at The Beach. Truthfully, I owe it to the CSULB community for shaping me into the man I am today. Additionally, I work as a cleanup associate for In-N-Out Burger to make ends meet. I look for opportunities to challenge myself, in efforts to exchange comfort for growth. Like climbing Mt. San Gorgonio, it begins with a single step. I’m just glad I packed moleskin. |
