Ceremony Check-In & GradPass Pick Up

Check-In & GradPass:

Location: Lot E4 (Employee Parking Lot 4 next to the Pool). NO STUDENT DROP OFF.

Timing: Arrive up to 90 minutes before your ceremony's published start time. Get ceremony information here.

What to Do:

  • BRING YOUR STUDENT ID or a GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID with your name on it to claim your GradPass.
  • Check in with Commencement staff in front of College of Engineering, Building 3 (ENG 3).
  • Pick up your Tassel GradPass. This will include ceremony information:
    • Name recording barcode (Important!  Don't lose, bend, destroy, or even eat it! This is how your name is announced and displayed.)
    • Email address (photographers will use this to contact you about commencement photos)
      • Pre-register with GradImages to have your stage proofs sent to you! (link)

Procession Formation:

Line-up:

  • Department signage and college staff will direct you.
  • By academic rank (Doctoral first, followed by Master's candidates, then undergraduates, then credentials)
  • With your department (optional; you can process with a different department or even friends if you prefer)

Instructions: Listen carefully to the instructions from Commencement officials.

Important Note: 

  • There is no rehearsal for graduates.
  • Grads will pass through security screening at staging area Lot E4. CLEAR BAGS only, no backpacks, purses, totes. Please see Venue Guidelines (link) for bag policy and prohibited items, and other pertinent information.
