I was attracted to the city because of the beach. The beach is my happy place and having a campus near the ocean seemed perfect. I knew I did not want to go far from home.  I also knew CSULB is affordable, and is known for diversity.

I started my first Beach family at the Beachside Residence Hall off campus. It allowed me to branch out into many different groups of friends, explore the beautiful city of Long Beach, and feel like a part of the Beach. I love the diversity on our campus because it allows me to grow, whether it’s all the clubs I have participated in or the friends I have made. I saw another side of campus when I joined student government. As a part of the Senate, I dealt with many difficult decisions, met many wonderful people, and learned much more about the Beach. I then ventured out into the College of Business Administration and joined the American Marketing Association where I made incredible connections and really developed my networking skills. When I joined the President’s Ambassadors, I was able to see the amazing opportunities the city offers and see how nice people are. My heart feeds on service and I hope to continue doing service after graduation. I am proud to represent the President on and off campus.

I plan to pursue a job in Human Resources. My ultimate goal is to open my own nonprofit organization. I have not decided the focus yet but I know it will be great. For now, I will continue to focus on personal development and continue to grow. I hope to learn as much as a can about entrepreneurship so that I can effectively mirror a successful business of my own. I really hope to become a mentor to young adults who want to become the best version of themselves.

It means keeping that connection to CSULB strong and helping other future alumni appreciate the amazing community we have available.
