Michele Cesca

Michele M. Cesca was appointed Vice President for University Relations and Development at California State University, Long Beach, in August 2018. In this role, Cesca provides the vision, leadership, and oversight for a multifaceted development operation that raises more than $30 million annually; an alumni affairs department that serves more than 320,000 graduates; and public affairs and marketing programs that handle a wide range of advocacy, media, and communications projects. A key member of the president’s senior leadership team, Cesca also serves as the CEO of the CSULB 49er Foundation and as the campus’s chief development officer.

Before coming to The Beach, Cesca served for nearly 10 years as Associate Vice President of Development at CSU Fullerton, where she led fundraising efforts that resulted in an unprecedented growth in overall support. Prior to that, Cesca was National Executive Director of Assistance League; she has also held key development positions at CSU Northridge, UC Irvine, USC, and the California Museum of Science and Industry. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Chapman University and received an executive management certificate from USC. She currently serves on the boards of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Educational Endowment Fund, and the National Hispanic Business Women Association.
