To apply to the MPA Distance Learning program, you must submit two applications: one to the University through Cal State Apply, and one to the Department.

Application Process

  1. Visit Cal State Apply
  2. Select Master of Public Administration – Distance Learning under Long Beach Extension
  3. Upload your Department application documents directly to Cal State Apply:
    • MPA Department Application
    • Two letters of recommendation (from former professors or job supervisors)
    • Personal statement (1–2 pages): your reasons for wanting to earn an MPA degree
  4. Pay the application fee and certify submission

If you have trouble uploading Department documents to Cal State Apply, email them directly to the MPA program office.
