Admission to the MAIA degree program requires approval by the University and the program’s Graduate Applicant Review Committee. Apply using Cal State Apply.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must submit:

• Bachelor’s degree in a social science, language, or related field from a regionally accredited university
• Minimum GPA of 2.7 in the last 60 semester units attempted
• Statement of purpose
• Recent resume
• Two letters of recommendation
• International applicants: proof of English language proficiency

Note: Although there is no prerequisite coursework, applicants are encouraged to have completed Introduction to Macroeconomics and Introduction to Microeconomics.

1. Visit Cal State Apply and select a term (Fall)
2. Sign in or create an account
3. Select CSU Long Beach as your campus and Extended Education as the Source
4. Select International Affairs from the list of available programs
5. Complete all required sections: Personal Information, Academic History, Supporting Information, and Program Materials
