#TheBeachWrites Writing Retreat, 2026

The University Writing Center is happy to share our Spring 2026 collaborations with the #TheBeachWrites team.  

#TheBeachWrites, a First Year Composition club at CSULB, aims to shed light on all things writing during students’ freshman year through their outreach and engaging content on social media (@thebeachwrites). From academic writing to personal projects to interviewing freshman on campus, the #TheBeachWrites team stops at nothing to bring awareness to the writing communities at The Beach.  

Our team is delighted to have co-hosted two Writing Retreats during the Spring 2026 semester with #TheBeachWrites, to further showcase our shared interest and support of CSULB writers. Each event took place ahead of the two busiest times of the semester: midterms and finals.  

By offering a free study event, including on-site UWC tutors and professionals from the CSULB library, attending students were equipped with the writing support and encouragement they needed to tackle their largest writing assignments of the semester.
