Aubry Mintz
Aubry Mintz is a professor of animation in the School of Art at Cal State Long Beach, where he started the animation program in 2007, which has been ranked as one of the top 13 animation schools in the nation by The Hollywood Reporter.
He is an award-winning animator, producer, and professor whose work spans major studios, independent film, and animation education. He has animated for ILM and Square USA, directed projects for brands such as Smirnoff and McDonald’s, and produced acclaimed shorts such as “Nothing to Say,” narrated by Danny Aiello.
Co-author of “Ideas for the Animated Short” and a contributor to Animation Magazine, Cartoon Brew, AWN Animation Scoop, and IndieWire, Mintz has presented at Disney, DreamWorks, Blue Sky, Lightbox Expo, SIGGRAPH, and Comic-Con. He has led animation programs at Laguna College of Art and Design and Chapman University. He also serves on the board of directors at ASIFA-Hollywood and was Director of the School of Art (2018-2021).
