Trace Camacho

Dr. Camacho is the Associate Dean of Student and Sr. Diversity Officer in Student Affairs at CSULB and serves as Co-Chair for the Latinx Faculty and Staff Association.  Dr. Camacho is a first generation college student from rural northern California. Dr. Camacho has over 15 years of professional experience in higher education and student affairs across various functional areas including student involvement, fraternity and sorority life, and student conduct.

He received his Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University where his dissertation focused on the experiences of gay Latino men in higher education. In addition, he has a master’s in higher education and student affairs from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from U.C. Santa Cruz.

Outside of work Dr. Camacho serves as the associate editor of the Journal of Sorority and Fraternity Life Research and Practice and on the Equity and Human Relations Commission for the City of Long Beach.
