Ayers is a distinguished public servant and leader whose career embodies the values of integrity, resilience and community-centered service. She went on to build a 17-year career with the Los Angeles Police Department, rising to become one of the youngest officers to reach the rank of captain, leading complex operations, mentoring new officers and representing the department at national conferences on reform, equity and community engagement. Her commitment to service extends beyond law enforcement as a commissioned officer in the California Air National Guard, where she has further deepened her discipline and strategic leadership.
