Steven Jensen
Steven Jensen, DPPD, is a professor in the Emergency Services Administration master’s program at Cal State Long Beach in the College of Professional and Continuing Education.
His research and practice focus on disaster risk management, community resilience, and emergency services leadership, informed by 45 years as a fire responder and advisor to agencies such as the American Red Cross and FEMA. He teaches courses in leadership, disaster planning, and organizational theory within emergency services, and engages in public commentary on current wildfire, hazard, and emergency policy issues.
He holds a Doctor of Policy, Planning, and Development (DPPD) from the University of Southern California Price School of Public Policy, a Master of Science in emergency management from California State University, and a Bachelor of Science in international studies from Whitworth University.
