Amr Morsy

Amr Morsy, Ph.D., P.E., is an assistant professor of civil engineering and construction engineering management in the College of Engineering at Cal State Long Beach.

Morsy’s research focuses on the deterioration and asset management of geotechnical infrastructure, the impact of climate change on geotechnical systems, and the application of geosynthetics in sustainable civil engineering. He integrates his research and industry experience to prepare students for careers that bridge technical expertise and environmental responsibility.

He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Cairo University in 2011 and 2013, and his doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. Before joining CSULB, he was a postdoctoral fellow at UT Austin, a consulting geotechnical engineer, and a research associate at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.
