The purpose of the CSULB vanpool program is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, comply with our air quality mandate, and support sustainable transportation choices. CSULB vanpools consist of 5 to 10 students, faculty, staff, or community members who, as a group of full-time vanpool participants, rent a van through Enterprise Rideshare to commute to and from the campus. Vanpool is a great option for students and employees who live more than 15 miles from campus. CSULB vanpool members save money on gas, vehicle maintenance, insurance, and parking and may be eligible to receive the following benefits:
- A $400/month van rental subsidy
- Fuel expenses compensated in full
- Virtual employee parking permit for van
- Two subsidized emergency rides home per year
In addition, vanpooling saves time by allowing use of the carpool lanes, reduces your carbon footprint, and has health benefits including reduced stress. Vanpool passengers can utilize the time they would have spent driving to relax, sleep, read, text, or email. Part-time ridership options are available.
Each Enterprise Rideshare van features luxury upholstery, sound system, cruise control, power locks and windows, and front and rear A/C, with additional upgrades available.
