Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at California State University Long Beach (CSULB) is sponsored by the College of Health and Human Services. With the exception of our Office Manager and Community Outreach Director, OLLI at CSULB is totally operated by volunteers, from faculty to committees and clerical work. There are four eight-week sessions each year. Classes are typically ninety minute periods and meet one day a week. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Computer classes are two hour sessions that meet Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM through 5:15 PM. There is an open lab on Fridays available to all computer students.

OLLI is a source of widely varied courses of interest to persons 50 years of age and older. There is no academic prerequisite for admission, or to understand and participate in the classes, just a desire to learn.

OLLI would like to thank the Bernard Osher Foundation for its generous support of our mission to provide quality educational opportunities throughout the life span. This foundation, based in San Francisco, supports a variety of University-based, lifelong learning programs for adults fifty years of age or older in California, and throughout the United States.

Roy Hubbs "Watercolor Workshop" has been a long established and popular class at OLLI. His students have displayed their work at the Long Beach Main Library to rave reviews. As you can see from this special presentation of the students' work, there is no shortage of talent at OLLI at CSULB.

Additional Senior Learning, Recreation and Adventure Opportunities

Elderhostel offers many excellent domestic and international travel programs for 55+ that provide exceptional opportunities for learning and adverture. Programs are geared for various activity levels and interests.
SeniorNet offers a wide variety of information and resources for seniors including chat rooms and discussions groups covering a variety of topics.
