These services are available to all current CSULB students, faculty, and staff only.

Are the materials you need unavailable? Interlibrary Services offers options to obtain materials not currently available (checked out, temporarily unavailable, we don't own it, etc.) at CSULB: CSU+ and BeachReach; each are described in detail below.

CSULB students, faculty and staff may also visit any CSU Library and borrow circulating materials. You will need to present your CSULB ID card.

Click 'GET IT' for your desired format.

Complete the CSU+ Request Form. Click 'SEND'.

Track your request in OneSearch under My Account -> REQUESTS.

Track your request in OneSearch under My Account -> REQUESTS.

When your desired item is not discoverable, click 'Send a request'.

You may also place a request by using the 'CSU+ REQUEST' option in the top menu.

Click '...' [Show More] to view the 'CSU+ REQUEST' link.

Complete the CSU+ Request Form. Click 'SEND REQUEST'.

Track your request in OneSearch under My Account -> REQUESTS. Requests which cannot be handled by the CSU+ Network may be fulfilled from other libraries through the BeachReach service. Click 'View BeachReach requests' for more information.

Track your BeachReach requests in BeachReach. You will be notified when your request is fulfilled.

CSU+

CSU+ allows CSUs across the state to share resources. When searching in OneSearch, CSU+ is your first option for getting items CSULB does not currently have.

  • Resource Sharing between 23 CSU libraries
  • Requests are placed in OneSearch
  • Average delivery time is 2-5 working days
  • Loan period is 16 weeks
  • Request progress can be tracked in real-time through your library account
  • No renewals
  • No overdue fines
  • Whole ebooks are not requestable
  • You will receive an email notification when your items can be picked at the Circulation Desk (1st Floor) or if your item cannot be supplied through CSU+

BeachReach

BeachReach extends beyond the CSU libraries to borrow articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, dissertations, books, and more. Use BeachReach if a request cannot be supplied through CSU+.

  • Average delivery time for articles and book chapters is 2-5 business days
  • Whole ebooks are not requestable
  • Average delivery time for books and media materials varies depending on availability and how far the item has to travel. It can range from a few days up to two weeks.
  • You will receive an email notification when your requests are electronically delivered to BeachReach or are ready for pick up.
    • Please be sure to download and save any documents you receive within the 30 day time limit.
  • BeachReach physical materials are stored in the lockers in front of the library, but can be picked up at the Circulation Desk (1st floor) by request.
  • Check the status of your requests by logging in to BeachReach.
