2022 CECS Senior Expo

Eighteen teams participated in the 2022 CSULB Computer Engineering and Computer Science Senior Expo at The Pointe on Tuesday, using a variety of technologies--including blockchain, facial recognition, artificial intelligence, and mobile apps--to solve a host of societal and technical problems.

2022 MAE Senior Design Expo

The CSULB Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department celebrated its first in-person design expo in two years, with projects that aimed to find mechanized ways to pick up trash in parks, recycle household plastics, remind drivers of children left in backseats, return basketballs to players, and make it easier to dolly heavy objects up flights of stairs.

BEACH Women in Engineering Conference

Women studying engineering are used to seeing few other women in their classes. But at the BEACH Women in Engineering Conference on April 9, they not only had company from nearly 150 women also studying engineering, but from more than 70 women engineers at various stages of their careers.

Registration Open for BEACH Women in Engineering Conference

Registration is now open for the BEACH Women in Engineering Conference, an in-person event celebrating and supporting CSULB’s vibrant and growing community of women studying engineering and computer science.

COE Introduces Environmental Engineering Major

The CSULB College of Engineering is launching a new undergraduate program to prepare graduates for careers in the environmental engineering field. Courses in the 120-unit Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering degree program will be offered beginning in Fall 2022.

Welcome Back to In-Person Classes

Nearly two years after the pandemic forced instruction to be offered virtually, CSULB College of Engineering students, faculty, and staff will be returning to campus on Monday, Feb. 7.  While some graduate classes will be offered online, all undergraduate classes will be held in person for the rest of  the Spring 2022 semester. 

BME’s Perla Ayala Receives NSF CAREER Award

Biomedical Engineering Assistant Professor Perla Ayala is the recipient of a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award to support her research into vascularization in cardiac fibrosis models.
