Bike Month 2024

Help celebrate Bike Month 2024 by participating in one or both of our fun campus events below. Be sure to RSVP for the event!

Bike-to-Campus Day

  • Date: Thursday, 5/9/2024
  • Time: 8am-1pm
  • Location: Parking and Transportation Services, Lot G5 
  • Description: Take your bike to work day! Give your vehicle a rest day and get biking during the best weather of the year! Get your cardio, fresh air, vitamin D, and free refreshments by choosing to bike to campus on Thursday, May 9, 2024. 
  • Prizes: Free refreshments will be offered to any student, faculty or staff member that bikes to campus on this day (donuts, fruit, granola bars, and more!). 
  • Purpose: To increase awareness of and participation in sustainable modes of travel to campus as well as foster a sense of community among students, faculty, and staff in honor of National Bike Month. By encouraging cycling as a mode of transportation, we strive to reduce our carbon footprint and promote healthier lifestyles.

Photo Scavenger Hunt 

  • Date: Monday, 4/29/2024 - Thursday, 5/9/2024 
  • Location: Social Media @csulb_parking & email ride@csulb.edu
  • Purpose: To celebrate our bike-friendly campus and encourage exploration of the iconic locations around CSULB campus and the City of Long Beach. We hope to highlight the beauty of our local surroundings and inspire a greater appreciation for cycling in the community as a means of transportation and recreation.
  • Prize: $25 in Beach Bucks and a CSULB swag bag.
  • How it works: Each photo post counts as 1 raffle entry and each Instagram story counts as 2 raffle entries. Emailed photos with consent to reshare via our Instagram account will also count as 1 point. The winner will be drawn on Friday, May 10, 2024. Eligible submissions will show your bike (or rented bike share bike), the landmark, and will tag @csulb_parking.

    • Walter Pyramid
    • Parking and Transportation Services Office
    • Any of our 3 Dero Fix-It stations on campus
    • Go Beach letters
    • Brotman Hall fountains
    • Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC)
    • CSULB Library
    • McIntosh Humanities Building fountain
    • A photo of proof of bike registration with UPD (DM or email)
    • Any Long Beach Bike Share station
