Ryan Smith – Fitness Floor Supervisor / Personal Trainer / Group Fitness Instructor
Ryan will be graduating from California State Unviersity, Long Beach in Fall of 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in fitness. He is a Certified Personal Trainer through the NSCA and a Johnny G Kranking Instructor. He is currently working on an advanced certification to work with people with chronic diseases. Ryan believes that exercise can have profound benefits for anyone, no matter their age or physical challenges.
Nicole Mier - Personal Trainer
Nicole is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Kinesiology at California State Unviersity, Long Beach. She has been involved in athletics much of her life as a competitive runner and as a rower for the Long Beach State Crew Team. Nicole has been a personal trainer for the last nine years finding inspiration in helping people reach their fitness and athletic goals while encouraging a healthful sustainable lifestyle. "My educational path has developed my passion for working with and developing strength and confidence around past injuries and my motto is learn to love to move!"
Araceli Velasco - Group Fitness Instructor
Araceli is a student at California State University, Long Beach. She will graduate in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Option of Fitness. She is a certified group exercise instructor through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). She is also CPR/AED and First Aid certified. "I enjoy the outdoors (hiking, rock climbing, nature) lifting weights, dancing and volunteering around my community. The human body really amazes me and I love learning about it. Exercise makes me feel good inside and out and I want others to achieve that great feeling as well. Exercise is not only to look good, it is to feel good physically and mentally. I believe 'What doesn’t challenge you doesn’t change you,' and I want to make sure people become aware of how important it is to stay active and live a healthy life."
James Salassi - Fitness Floor Supervisor
James earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science at Point Loma Nazarene University in 2010. He is currently a graduate student in the kinesiology department, obtaining his MS in exercise science. James is currently collecting data for his thesis on The acute effects of various high-intensity interval training (HIIT) protocols on cardiopulmonary andmetabolicfunction.
Heidi Engler - Personal Trainer
Heidi Engler is a Personal Trainer at the LifeFit Center. She is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Kinesiology, Fitness option. Heidi is NSCA (National Strength andConditioning Association) personal trainer as well as a Johnny G KrankCycle certified instructor. Some of her joys are Kranking, spinning, spending time under the sun at the beach, reading, being active, and spending time cultivating friendships. Her motto for fitness and life is "be joyful, from the inside out". She believes in finding an inner joy and desire for exercise and being healthy.
Jason Trapschuh - Personal Trauiner/Fitness Floor Supervisor
Jason is a student at CSULB and will be graduating in the fall of 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Fitness. He naturally fell into the field of fitness due to his many curiosities with outdoor sports. As a youth he traveled the U.S. playing competitive soccer. From soccer he turned to competitive surfing, recreational snowboarding, spear fishing, and rock climbing. He has learned "through my experiences with sports that our bodies are engineered to be movers, and I believe that exercise is a key element to longevity, happiness, and health." Jason is currently a certified personal trainer through NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), as well as CPR/AED, and EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certified. Jason plans on pursuing the EIM (Exercise is Medicine) certification after graduation. Jason has been working in an emergency room as an EMT for several years now and wants to bridge the gap between medicine and exercise.
Elizabeth graduated from CSU, Long Beach with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She has been teaching Aqua Fitness for about 12 years. She has helped many people through aqua fitness with preventing surgery, improving heart health, re-cooperation from injuries, weight loss and improving over all health. She also teaches Zumba and Aqua Zumba. She is a Personal Trainer and has a background of athletic performance coaching.
Elizabeth's hobbies include kayaking, scuba diving, softball, surfing, going to see concerts, swimming and playing water polo.
Meghan MacRae - Group Fitness Instructor

Meghan has received her certifications from and studied under Medium and Reiki Master Lauralyn Harter - Shamanic Guide and Spiritual Counselor John Livingston - Cloud Nine Yoga Founder Erika Faith & Anahata Yoga and Wellness Founder Tina Parga. Meghan also spent 2 months living with a native shaman in the Peruvian jungle, and another month learning from and traveling with shamans around the country of Peru.
Leiana Swanson - Group Fitness Instructor
Leiana is currently attending California State University, Long Beach as a senior Kinesiology major with an option in Fitness. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as well as a Certified Johnny G. Kranking Instructor. Over the past four years at CSULB her passion for fitness has grown through the education and experience she has received. Some of her favorite hobbies include running, yoga, circuit training, and dancing, but she loves anything that involves moving and being active. Leiana believes that a lifestyle of health and fitness has doors open to all. No matter what goals you have, staying active is a positive way to increase health, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
Tony is a Fitness Floor Supervisor, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor for the LifeFit Center @ the Beach. He recently graduated from California State Unviersity, Long Beach with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness. He is currently a graduate student in the Kinesiology Option with an emphasis in Exercise Science and plans on writing his thesis in the area of motor control and learning. Tony is a NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) certified personal trainer and certified Krankcycle instructor. He alsoI hosts his own boot camps off-campus, works as the Lead Personal Trainer for the CSULB Student Recreation & Wellness Center, and privately train clients at their homes. When Tony is not working, he enjoys playing various sports, surfing, hanging out with friends & family and a relaxing time with some good entertainment. He believes working out and moving your body elevates every aspect of life and looks forward to teaching individuals how to do this in the most efficient way. "I cannot wait to see everyone on the floor at the LFC, or in my Krank Circuit class!"
Beth Bledsoe - Group Fitness Instructor
Beth is a senior at California State University, Long Beach studying Kinesiology with an option in fitness. She is a certified personal trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as well as a certified group exercise instructor through AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America). Beth enjoys competing in half marathons, working out at the beach, various sports, dancing, and going on adventures. She believes that fitness is not a goal to be reached, but a lifestyle to achieve. Through inspiration, motivation, and fun she brings success to those who want to live longer, stronger, and healthier lives.
