FITNESS PROFESSIONALS

Heather Mazzei - Program Coordinator / Group Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer

HEATHER

Heather is the Program Coordinator for the LifeFit Center @ The Beach! She is a recent graduate of the California State Unviersity, Long Beach Kinesiology Fitness department and is grateful to be working at her alumni campus. Health and wellness continue to pervade her life as she follows her passion in inspiring and teaching others to make fitness a lifestyle instead of a side job. Heather is a certified strength and conditioning specialist as well as a certified personal trainer through the NSCA and enjoys watching people’s bodies and minds change as a result of exercise. She is a former dancer in the CSULB program and currently teaches ZUMBA for the CSULB Student Recreation & Wellness Center. She loves stretching, the Krankcycle, and her dog Shellee. Heather hopes to increase awareness of the many benefits that come with exercise and to make a difference in the community that has given her so much. "I look forward to working and getting to know all the members of the LFC as well as the CSULB staff and students!"

 
TONY NUNEZTony Nunez – Fitness Floor Supervisor / Group Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer

Tony is a Fitness Floor Supervisor, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor for the LifeFit Center @ the Beach. He recently graduated from California State Unviersity, Long Beach with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness.  He is currently a graduate student in the Kinesiology Option with an emphasis in Exercise Science and plans on writing his thesis in the area of motor control and learning. Tony is a NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) certified personal trainer and certified Krankcycle instructor. He alsoI hosts his own boot camps off-campus, works as the Lead Personal Trainer for the CSULB Student Recreation & Wellness Center, and privately train clients at their homes.  When Tony is not working, he enjoys playing various sports, surfing, hanging out with friends & family and a relaxing time with some good entertainment. He believes working out and moving your body elevates every aspect of life and looks forward to teaching individuals how to do this in the most efficient way. "I cannot wait to see everyone on the floor at the LFC, or in my Krank Circuit class!"

 

RYAN SMITHRyan Smith – Fitness Floor Supervisor / Personal Trainer

Ryan will be graduating from California State Unviersity, Long Beach in Fall of 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in fitness. He is a Certified Personal Trainer through the NSCA and a Johnny G Kranking Instructor. He is currently working on an advanced certification to work with people with chronic diseases. Ryan believes that exercise can have profound benefits for anyone, no matter their age or physical challenges.

Nicole is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Kinesiology at California State Unviersity, Long Beach. She has been involved in athletics much of her life as a competitive runner and as a rower for the Long Beach State Crew Team. Nicole has been a personal trainer for the last nine years finding inspiration in helping people reach their fitness and athletic goals while encouraging a healthful sustainable lifestyle.  "My educational path has developed my passion for working with and developing strength and confidence around past injuries and my motto is learn to love to move!"

Chase Owens - Group Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer

Chase is a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer at the LifeFit Center. He earned his bachelor's degee in Kinesiology with an emphasis on fitness in early 2012. Along with CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, Chase has his personal training certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America as well as specialty certifications from TRX Suspension Training, Stott Pilates CORE Fitness, and the Johnny G.. Krankcycle College of Knowledge.

 

beth bBeth Bledsoe - Group Fitness Instructor

Beth is a senior at California State University, Long Beach studying Kinesiology with an option in fitness.  She is a certified personal trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as well as a certified group exercise instructor through AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America).  Beth enjoys competing in half marathons, working out at the beach, various sports, dancing, and going on adventures.  She believes that fitness is not a goal to be reached, but a lifestyle to achieve.  Through inspiration, motivation, and fun she brings success to those who want to live longer, stronger, and healthier lives.

 

Heidi Engler - Personal Trainer heidiengler

Heidi Engler is a Personal Trainer at the LifeFit Center. She is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Kinesiology, Fitness option. Heidi is NSCA (National Strength andConditioning Association) personal trainer as well as a Johnny G KrankCycle certified instructor. Some of her joys are Kranking, spinning, spending time under the sun at the beach, reading, being active, and spending time cultivating friendships. Her motto for fitness and life is "be joyful, from the inside out". She believes in finding an inner joy and desire for exercise and being healthy.

 

RHONDARhonda - Group Fitness Instructor

BA - Dance, PE minor, M.Ed.

Rhonda has her Fitness Cetifications in: UCI, IDEA, Cooper Clinic, Pilates. She has worked in the fitness industry since 1972, hired by Jack La Lanne in 1974. She has been the owner of several fitness centers starting in the early 1990's. Rhonda has taught all levels of education from elementary to college. Presently, Rhonda is a lecturer at California State Unviersity, Long Beach and Cerritos College in Fitness, Health, Athletic Activities. Rhonda is also a mother of 3.

 

Amanda Monette - Personal Trainer

Amanda will be completing her degree in Kinesiology in May 2013 before returning for her Master's in Sport Management. She is currently a certified personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as a certified in TRX Suspension Training, CPR, AED and First Aid. Amanda is working to become an ACSM Health Fitness Specialist as well as earn her Exercise is Medicine Credential upon completion of her Bachelor's Degree. Her interests include running, running a little farther, yoga, and occasionally running some more. In her free time, Amanda enjoys playing with Lego’s and contemplating the pros and cons of becoming a crazy cat woman.
