RYAN SMITHRyan Smith – Fitness Floor Supervisor / Personal Trainer / Group Fitness Instructor / Strength for Living leader

Ryan graduated from California State Unviersity, Long Beach in Fall of 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in fitness. He is a Certified Personal Trainer through the NSCA and a Johnny G Kranking Instructor. He is currently working on an advanced certification to work with people with chronic diseases. Ryan believes that exercise can have profound benefits for anyone, no matter their age or physical challenges.

nicole mierNicole Mier - Personal Trainer

Nicole is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Kinesiology at California State Unviersity, Long Beach. She has been involved in athletics much of her life as a competitive runner and as a rower for the Long Beach State Crew Team. Nicole has been a personal trainer for the last nine years finding inspiration in helping people reach their fitness and athletic goals while encouraging a healthful sustainable lifestyle.  "My educational path has developed my passion for working with and developing strength and confidence around past injuries and my motto is learn to love to move!"


araceliAraceli Velasco - Group Fitness Instructor

Araceli is a student at California State University, Long Beach. She will graduate in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Option of Fitness. She is a certified group exercise instructor through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). She is also CPR/AED and First Aid certified. "I enjoy the outdoors (hiking, rock climbing, nature) lifting weights, dancing and volunteering around my community. The human body really amazes me and I love learning about it. Exercise makes me feel good inside and out and I want others to achieve that great feeling as well. Exercise is not only to look good, it is to feel good physically and mentally. I believe 'What doesn’t challenge you doesn’t change you,' and I want to make sure people become aware of how important it is to stay active and live a healthy life."


James Salassi - Fitness Specialist / Strength for Living Leader salassi

James earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science at Point Loma Nazarene University in 2010 and recently obtained his MS in Exercise Science from California State University, Long Beach.


heidienglerHeidi Engler - Service Desk Lead / Personal Trainer

Heidi Engler is a Personal Trainer at the LifeFit Center. She is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Kinesiology, Fitness option. Heidi is NSCA (National Strength andConditioning Association) personal trainer as well as a Johnny G KrankCycle certified instructor. Some of her joys are Kranking, spinning, spending time under the sun at the beach, reading, being active, and spending time cultivating friendships. Her motto for fitness and life is "be joyful, from the inside out". She believes in finding an inner joy and desire for exercise and being healthy.

Anna Garalde - Personal Trainer / Fitness Specialistanna g

Anna Garalde is currently a fitness student at Cal State Long Beach and willbe graduating in the Spring of 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with a focus in fitness. She started working as a personal trainer at the LifeFit Center in September 2013, prior to that, she served as a fitness option intern during the summer months. She will continue to serve as a fitness option intern for her final semester of coursework in addition to working as a personal trainer at the LifeFit. She has big plans of creating programs that will inform members of ways to increase efficiency in their activities of daily living.

l swansonLeiana Swanson - Group Fitness Instructor

Leiana is currently attending California State University, Long Beach as a senior Kinesiology major with an option in Fitness. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as well as a Certified Johnny G. Kranking Instructor. Over the past four years at CSULB her passion for fitness has grown through the education and experience she has received. Some of her favorite hobbies include running, yoga, circuit training, and dancing, but she loves anything that involves moving and being active. Leiana believes that a lifestyle of health and fitness has doors open to all. No matter what goals you have, staying active is a positive way to increase health, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

Kaitlyn Jones - Group Fitness Instructorkailtyn jones

First entering college, Kaitlyn's sights had always been set on being a business major. It wasn't until two years into stressful business classes that she took a class called "Fitness for Living." Needless to say, her passion for fitness began!

Kaitlyn graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelors if Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in fitness. Her favorite part of her degree program was the immersion into the fitness industry. With the guidance of amazing professors and mentors, Kaitlyn has been able to attend multiple fitness conventions and events that embody what she loves most about active lifestyles. "Being a part of a community that is so interconnected through drive and determination is more than a blessing!"

Outside of the fitness industry, Kaitlyn still enjoys staying active. Hiking, surfing, camping... Just a few of her favorite outdoor activities. Her passion is in yoga! Yoga has taught Kaitlyn so much about herself and life.

beth bBeth Bledsoe - Group Fitness Instructor

Beth is a senior at California State University, Long Beach studying Kinesiology with an option in fitness.  She is a certified personal trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as well as a certified group exercise instructor through AFAA (Aerobic and Fitness Association of America).  Beth enjoys competing in half marathons, working out at the beach, various sports, dancing, and going on adventures.  She believes that fitness is not a goal to be reached, but a lifestyle to achieve.  Through inspiration, motivation, and fun she brings success to those who want to live longer, stronger, and healthier lives.
