The Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at CSULB and the Economic Development Department of the city of Long Beach are cohosting the Long Beach Climathon 2017. The 24 hour event will be held in the Department of Design’s Duncan Anderson Gallery from 10am Friday October 27 through 10am Saturday October 28. Climathon 2017 is a global event (last year over 260 cities around the world participated) that is addressing the challenge of finding solution to climate change problems. Long Beach is the only city in the western United States participating this year. The challenge that we have identified for the Long Beach teams is to find solutions to Scope 3 emissions which are approximately 60% of the carbon footprint for CSULB. It is critical that solutions be found to this challenge in order to meet our target from the Climate Action Plan of climate neutrality by 2030. Come to problem solve, participate in ideation, learn from lectures, and focus with yoga. Participation is free and is welcome to all students, faculty, staff, and community members throughout Long Beach.
