Welcome to our Department website.

These are exciting times for study and research in the field of Biological Sciences. Our faculty research and curriculum offer exposure and specialization in a diverse range of sub-disciplines including cell and molecular biology, microbiology, physiology, marine biology, terrestrial biology, and ecology. We also have an option in Biology education for teacher training. Together, our faculty and students use the latest approaches including bioinformatics, proteomics, genetic engineering, statistical models, and behavioral tracking to perform cutting edge research. Undergraduate research opportunities exist in all our faculty research programs. Our masters degrees include thesis research and produce a balance of community college teachers, competitive industry and government work force, and future doctoral recipients. In the past five years, almost 40% of our masters graduates have successfully entered doctoral programs.
