BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BIOLOGY OPTION IN CELLULAR AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND GENETICS (code 3-7627)

This option is designed primarily for those interested in careers in cellular and molecular biology and genetics and is particularly appropriate for those contemplating graduate work in these fields. This option requires a total of 87-91 units in the major, of which 46 are in lower division and 41-45 are in upper division, and a minimum of 132 units for graduation. 

Lower Division: CHEM 111A, B, BIOL 210A, B, 240, 260; PHYS 100A, B; MICR 210; MATH 119A or 122, 119B or 123; NSCI 200. 

Upper Division: CHEM 321A, B, 441A, B; BIOL 340, 350, 370; two courses selected from A/P 440 or BIOL 333 or 433 or 473; one course selected from BIOL 468 or 477L or MICR 431 or both 450 and 451 or NSCI 443 or CHEM 443; one course selected from A/P 445 or CHEM 547 or BIOL 412 or both 447 and 447L or 463 or 464 or 465 or 477; 2-3 units of BIOL 496.
