Sunny Scarbrough

SI Leader for Lacey, J [ M,W 10am - 12 pm ]
Sunny's course is M, W 12:30 - 1:45 pm [ Section 64, #11153 ]

My name is Sunny Scarbrough, and I’m born and raised in Seal Beach, California. I’m currently studying accounting and am in my fourth year at CSULB. I plan on graduating May 2018 and then will study to take the CPA exam.

Two years ago, I took my first accounting course of my college career. I picked up the subject quickly and found that I enjoyed the content I was learning so I decided I would switch my option from Human Resources to Accounting. I am happy that I decided to change my option because I feel that it is the perfect major for me, I enjoy business but also want to be in a position where I can help people and I believe that accounting will allow me to do that. I plan on working at a public accounting firm until I find the right path for me outside of public accounting. I also would like to go back to school and get a master’s degree and possibly a doctoral degree so I can teach at a community college or university part time, which is a big reason I wanted to become a supplemental instruction leader. I believe these SI courses are a great way for us to help not only the students who are struggling, but also the ones who are understanding, and make sure that they all perform to the best of their abilities.

Chase's course is Tu, Th 2 - 3:15 pm [ Section 37, #5205 ]

Hi my name is Chase Rossi, and I am born and raised in Torrance, California. I am currently in my junior year in the Accountancy program and I plan on graduating in Fall 2018. I transferred to CSULB in Fall 2016 from El Camino College, where I attended for three years. During my time at El Camino College, I spent my last semester being part of their SI program and it was an extremely rewarding experience. Because I enjoyed it so much, I wanted to become an SI Leader at CSULB for Intermediate Accounting. I also work as a server at the King Harbor Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, California and I pick up shifts at my family’s pizzeria whenever they need help.

My name is Tayler Stelzriede. I was born and raised in a small town called Lake Almanor in Northern California. I attended Santa Rosa Junior College for three years then transferred to CSULB. This is my senior year at CSULB in the Accountancy program, and I plan to graduate at the end of this semester.

This will be my 2nd semester as an SI Leader. I tutored financial accounting at my community college and loved it! I’ve also been a mentor for international students and members of Beta Alpha Psi and Accounting Society at CSULB. I chose to be an SI Leader because I felt that it combined the qualities of being a tutor and mentor into one. I look forward to being able to use my love for accounting to help fellow students develop academically and professionally.
