INFORMATION and ADVICE
Good relationships can improve success and happiness in almost all life areas.  Good relationships depend up many factors of the persons involved and the situation in which the relationship takes place.  If you are having problems with relationships in general or any particular relationship, the causes may be numerous and complex. Nevertheless, they can be understood and progress can be made with good self-analysis and/or help.  Here are a few factors to consider:

bullet

The type of relationship(s) [business, friendship, romantic, etc.]

bullet

Are you having this type of problem with just this one person, or is it a pattern that has been a problem before? A pattern indicates a bigger problem with yourself.

bullet

If it is a pattern, are you making bad choices about who to approach (e. g. Approaching someone mainly because they are attractive, but who has little in common with you, approaching someone who you are attracted to for being confident and strong but later dominates you, approaching someone who does everything to please you but you later find uninteresting, etc.)?

bullet

Make a list of criteria of what you want in a relationship [job, spouse, friend, whatever].  Then evaluate both the people you have been picking and YOURSELF by these criteria.  Perhaps that will help you discover the problem.

bullet

What are you doing (or not doing) that is contributing to the problem? No matter how many problems others may have, you can only change yourself!  So get started figuring out how to relate to others better.

bullet

Take our SHAQ CARES assessment to get some feedback, get feedback from others, go to the Internet links, and seek other help.  Many people have made radical differences in their interpersonal skills and relationships.  The key is getting good information, persistent trying and examining the results, and trying some more.
