Memorial Held

Speakers told of their reaction to seeing the fallen World Trade towers. A musician blared “Taps” on his bugle, while the school’s ROTC team presented the colors during a brief ceremony Friday marking the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

Several students stopped by the USU North Lawn and listened as Vet Net Ally Program president Gus Orozco recalled how “enraged with what was happening in our country” and joined the Army after college. He was deployed to Iraq in 2007 and served 15 months in Baghdad. Mark Guest, ASI secretary of Veteran Affairs, said that morning “affected us all in innumerable ways.”
