Hazardous Materials Procurement Training and Quiz

According to policy set forth by campus Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), faculty and staff must obtain prior approval from appropriate safety or administrative personnel for any purchase of hazardous material as defined by federal, state and local regulations and University policies. Hazardous materials include those that are irritants, corrosives, toxics, carcinogens or have other hazards, compressed gases, radioactive materials, certain biological materials, controlled substances and precursor chemicals.

CNSM policy divides hazardous materials into two categories: non-restricted and restricted. Upon completion of Hazardous Materials Procurement Training, CNSM personnel will be designated by the Dean to purchase non-restricted items without prior approval. This training defines non-restricted and restricted materials and provides information on how to properly identify each.

To complete this training, please view the CNSM Hazardous Materials Procurement Training (PDF) before taking the quiz below. Upon submission of the quiz, you will receive a confirmation email with your quiz score. While a perfect score is required to pass, there is no limit to the number of times the quiz may be retaken before the required perfect score is achieved.
