Writing Intensive Capstone Creation Series--WICCS

Ten faculty from across campus participated in this year’s inaugural WICCS. They learned a variety of informed writing pedagogies to use in their classes, how to create a GE Capstone Writing Intensive class, and how to incorporate at least one writing to learn activity in other undergraduate classes.

Writing Intensive Capstone Creation Series in Engineering--WICCS-E

This group of five faculty from several Engineering Departments met several times over the semester to learn informed writing pedagogies they could integrate into their Engineering undergraduate and graduate classes, and to create GE Capstone Writing Intensive classes. One member developed writing projects for a graduate class as well.

Information Overview on WAC and Writing Intensive Capstone Requirements

We had five, 2 hour Information Overviews during academic year 2014-2015 with almost 70 partcipants. These workshops had two goals. First, to share informed wiritng practices in the disciplines, and second, to explain and clarify what the GE WI requirements mean.

Writing Intensive Capston Creation Series

I hosted 11, five-hour workshops for instructors wishing to create a General Education Governing Committee Writing Intensive Capstone clas, and met individualy with about 60 faculty from across the colleges to disuss the teaching of writing in their discipline.
