David Jacques

David Martin Jacques’ design career has spanned across stages worldwide. He has served as a lighting, scenic, and media designer at such notable venues as: The Royal Opera House Covent Garden (London), Teatro alla Scala (Milan), The English National Opera (London), Teatro La Fenice (Venice), The Lyric Opera of Chicago, Brooklyn Academy of Music (NY) The Norwegian Opera and Ballet (Oslo), Los Angeles Philharmonic, The New National Theater of Tokyo, Hong Kong Opera, The Canadian Opera Company (Toronto), Chicago Opera Theater, Portland Opera, Central City Opera (Denver), Teatro San Carlo (Naples), Teatro dell’Opera Roma (Rome), Vancouver Opera, Welsh National Opera (Cardiff), Long Beach Opera, Memphis Opera, Mobile Opera, Dallas Theatre Center, Teatro Perez Galdos (Grand Canary Island), Kirov/Mariinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), Chautauqua Opera (NY), Maggio Musicale (Florence), Manitoba Opera (Canada), Opera Pacific (LA), Dallas Shakespeare Festival, and Teatro Lirico di Cagliari (Sardinia). 

David also designed for television on A&E, NBC, and PBS. He has served as a consultant/designer for the Walt Disney Corporation, as well as for many houses of worship in the United States. David has led the graduate design programs at Southern Methodist University and California State University Long Beach.
