The Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) is an academic year (August-May) program where a senior level student or students in their last academic year are paired with a mid to senior level professional in a mentoring relationship. The mentoring is personalized and focus of the partnership is determined by a mutually agreed upon contract. The goals can vary and often result in tangible achievements in addition to soft skills development in areas such as self-awareness, professionalism and self-confidence.
Students must meet the following requirements:
- Senior Level Status or Last Academic Year
- COB Major/Minor
- GPA Requirement: 2.5
- Complete the CMP Application
- Attend an in-person interview
- Bring a resume to the in-person interview
Accepted Students must complete the following requirements:
- Attend an Orientation
- Meet for a minimum of one hour face to face per month with your mentor
- Turn in a completed contract
- Attend the Leadership Retreat
- Attend the Spring Mixer
- Attend the Awards Banquet
Typically held at the first or second Friday of the fall semester, this 4-hour, on-campus event is for mentees only. The CMP Orientation covers what to expect, allows mentees to meet the other selected participants, and prepares mentees for the yearlong commitment.
Scheduled for: Friday, August 28, 2020 from 8:00am to 12:00pm in COB Room (TBD). *Depending on the COVID-19 situation, this may be altered.
Typically held over a weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) in September, this three day event is for mentees only. The CMP Leadership Retreat brings mentors and recent alumni to serve as volunteers to help facilitate the weekend activities. Mentees will have indoor and outdoor experiential learning activities that encourage teamwork, self-awareness, leadership, trust, and communication skills that can be applied in both academic and work settings.
Scheduled for: Friday, September 11, 2020 to Sunday, September 13, 2020 at YMCA Camp Whittle. *Depending on the COVID-19 situation, this may be altered.
*This is an overnight event. Transportation is provided. Students are not able to drive on their own. Students must attend all three days. The bus leaves at 9:00am on Friday, and returns at 6:00pm on Sunday.
Typically held on the first Friday of the spring semester, this evening event is open to all CMP participants (mentors and mentees). The CMP Spring Mixer provides a setting to network, and listen to an inspiring guest speaker.
Scheduled for: Friday, January 22, 2021 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at (TBD). *Depending on the COVID-19 situation, this may be altered.
Typically held on the second Friday of May, this evening event marks the official conclusion of the Corporate Mentoring Program and celebrates all the accomplishments of our CMP Mentees.
Scheduled for: Friday, May 14, 2021 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at (TBD). *Depending on the COVID-19 situation, this may be altered.
Applications for the 2020-2021 Cohort are CLOSED.
Applications for the 2021-2022 Cohort will open in March 2021.
