Confidential Advocacy and Support
Under Title IX, sexual misconduct is viewed as an extreme form of sexual harassment or sex discrimination that must be addressed. All sexual activity between members of the CSU community must be based on Affirmative Consent. Engaging in any sexual activity without first obtaining Affirmative Consent to the specific activity constitutes Sexual Misconduct and is a violation of this policy, whether or not the conduct violates any civil or criminal crime.
CSULB Campus Confidential Advocate provides students/staff/faculty free confidential support in the event they are impacted by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence and/or stalking as well as assistance in navigating campus and community resources.

Sexual Assault Awareness
In collaboration with campus partners, WGEC holds several events to raise our campus community's awareness about sexual assault. The Clothesline Project, Denim Day, and Take Back the Night all occur during April where students, staff, and faculty are invited to learn ways to prevent sexual violence and get connected with resources. The Clothesline Project
The Clothesline Project is a national movement that brings awareness to the impact of violence, celebrates survivors' resilience, honors those we have lost and a strategy to break the silence. A compelling visual display of t-shirts designed by CSULB students, faculty, staff, and the greater Long Beach community is put together during Sexual Assault Awareness month.
This event will take place on April 3, 2024, during the Spring 2024 semester. Stay tuned for more information!
Denim Day
National Denim Day is a campaign held on a Wednesday in April to observe Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We ask CSULB students, faculty, staff, and the larger Long Beach Community to make a statement by wearing jeans on this day to protest against the myths that surround sexual violence.
This event will take place on April 24, 2024, during the Spring 2024 semester. Stay tuned for more information!
Take Back the Night
Take Back the Night is a worldwide program to raise awareness and be in solidarity with those who have been impact by different forms of power-based personal violence. The CSULB community will have the opportunity to stand against violence against women by participating in a rally, march, speak out, or amplify survivor voices.
