Horn Center/UAM Renovation

Summary:  The scope of work will include a renovation of the undergraduate advising center, learning assistance center, computer lab and the university art museum.  The Computer Lab, undergraduate advising and learning assistance centers will be converted to 10 classrooms, 2 lecture halls, and additional all gender restroom expansion to meet the increase occupant load.  The south courtyard will receive new hardscape/landscape along with additional seating. The north courtyard will be converted to a serene sculpture garden. The university’s central art museum will also be renamed to the Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum at California State University Long Beach due to a generous donation. The museum will receive a new interior floor plan along with a 4,000 square foot expansion.  The new floor plan and expansion will include additional galleries space and storage rooms for archiving collections.

Alumni Center Renovation

Summary:  The Alumni building will serve as a welcoming campus portal that inspires, facilitates and sustains alumni interaction by providing a one-of-a kind special event and gathering space for the Campus and Community. It will be the symbolic home for all Alumni returning to Campus showcasing 49er memorabilia and providing a welcoming space to socialize and continue the friendships formed at the University. It will bring students and alumni together in a single location to promote career development, networking, mentoring and opportunities. It will be an inspired venue for learning, engagement and entrepreneurial activities.

COB Lecture Halls Renovation

Summary:  The College of Business building, formerly known as the College of Business Administration, was built in the early 1990s and completed in 1993 and its lecture halls haven’t been renovated since then. This project consists of tenant improvements at the four lecture halls that sit on the west end of the building, while maintaining the seat count. The project scope includes but is not limited to: new finishes, new furniture, lighting retrofit to more efficient fixtures, and acoustical and audiovisual improvements. This renovation will improve the experience of both students and lecturers.

Los Alamitos/Los Cerritos Renovation

Summary:  The Los Alamitos and Los Cerritos Renovation project consists of performing a comprehensive renovation of these two buildings which were built in 1959. Some of the finishes and part of the infrastructure in these buildings are original and need to be updated. The preliminary project scope for the project includes new finishes throughout (except for select areas that were recently renovated), mechanical and electrical upgrades, installation of a modular elevator at Los Alamitos to improve ADA access to the building, roof replacement at Los Alamitos, one new students kitchen at each building, installation of a fire suppression system (sprinklers) and a new fire alarm system. This project will bring the Los Alamitos and Los Cerritos buildings up to date, significantly improving the experience of the students and staff that use and maintain the facilities.

Heating Hot Water Replacement Phase 3

Summary:  This underground piping replacement project will repair our failing underground heating hot water distribution on the south campus lateral connections to the buildings and also the north campus loop near KIN, Engineering, and the Design buildings.
