Overflow Parking - Spring 2022

UPDATE (3/10/2022): The on-campus overflow is now closed. Overflow Permits are now allowed to park on campus in any location that student semester permits are allowed. Please visit Permits for more info.

The Overflow Parking Lot was located at Cottonwood Church 4505 Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos for the first 5 weeks of Spring Semester 2022. After 3/10/2022, all overflow parking permits function as regular Student Semester permits (expiring on June 5, 2022) with all the associated student permit privileges. Full details are provided below.

Dates: 2/7-3/10/2022
Reduced Permit Price: $94/semester (new prorated price)
Free Shuttle Service: 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Departs every 15 min)

Price: $94 (50% off the regular semester permit price of $189)

Location: Cottonwood Church (Lots 6B & 6C), 4505 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720 (5 miles from campus)

A limited number of permits were made available on a first come, first served basis via the Online Parking Portal.

NOTE: Permits are required to park in the offsite parking area and Overflow Permit stickers will be required to board the campus shuttles.

Shuttle Service

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 
Dates: Feb. 7-Mar. 10, 2022
Frequency:  Every 15 minutes

Shuttles will depart from the Cottonwood Church parking lot starting at 7:30 a.m. and every 15 minutes thereafter (ex. 7:45, 8:00, 8:15, 8:30, etc.). The last shuttle will depart from campus to the Overflow Lot at 5:30 p.m.

Pick-up location: Cottonwood Church parking lot (6B & 6C), 4505 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, CA 90720
Drop-off location: East Campus Turnaround/CPIE (CSULB)

Time/Date Restrictions

(Please read the update at the top of this page)

Overflow Permits are required at all times when parking in the off-site parking lot. Parking on campus Monday-Thursday is STRICTLY PROHIBITED (Feb. 7 - Mar. 10). Overflow permits are valid on campus every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. After Mar. 10, Overflow Permits will be valid on campus seven days a week and will function as a regular student semester permit until June 6, 2020.

Monday-Thursday, permit is valid in the Overflow Lot ONLY
Friday-Sunday, permit is valid on campus

Mar. 11-June 7, 2020*
Permit is valid on campus

*After 3/10/2022, the Overflow Parking lot will close, and all overflow permits will then be treated as regulare on-campus semester parking permits. Permit holders will be able to park on campus, seven days a week, in any area available to the regular Student Permits.

Overflow Sticker

Permit recipients will be required to display an Overflow Permit sticker affixed to their campus ID in order to board campus shuttles to/from the Overflow Lot location.

You can pick up your sticker at the Parking Office or the Visitor Information Center during normal business hours.

*On-campus parking Feb. 7-Mar. 10, 2022 is restricted to Friday, Saturday and Sunday ONLY.
**Due to the discount and limited amount offered, Overflow Permit purchases will not be refundable.
