- Dr. Michael Eric Dyson is one of the nation’s most renowned professors, knowledgeable lecturers and riveting media personalities, and author of more than 20 books. His latest book, Long Time Coming: Reckoning with Race in America was published in December and heralded as Amazon’s Bestselling Book for 2020.

Faculty are now able to access their offices on campus by registering through the Faculty Office Request System available in Single Sign-On. As with many current openings, this is subject to change due to ongoing and ever-changing COVID-19 regulations.

Faculty can utilize Zoom Rooms, or Hyflex classrooms, on campus to teach. As we continue with alternative modes of instruction (AMI), safety is the top priority so access to these rooms will be limited. Please contact your department chair or college dean with your request. Technical assistance will be provided by the ATS Classroom Support team.

As the Spring 2021 semester nears a close, please ensure compliance regarding a few important policies. Learn more about important grading, midterm grade options, and student referrals for the spring semester here.

Are your materials accessible? Find accessible Instructional technology resources on this new ATS webpage. Blackboard (BB) Ally, a resource to help faculty create accessible course content, is coming soon! Register for a BB Ally workshop to learn more about how to use this resource. The Learning Glass is available to CSULB instructors for delivering lectures in a dynamic and engaging way. Learn more about using Learning Glass from two CSULB faculty.

Withdrawals During Final Three Weeks (Deadline: May 7, 2021) – Students are not allowed to withdraw from any classes except in certain circumstances. Visit How to Review Requests to Withdraw for step-by-step instructions and a video tutorial. Final Grade Submission (Deadline: May 20, 2021) – Grade roster submissions are due no later than May 20 in your MyCSULB Faculty Center. Visit How to Submit Final Grades for step-by-step instructions and a video tutorial. FERPA for Faculty – All students' records, including grades, are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Please note that the public posting of grades, either by the student's name, CSULB ID number, or social security number, is a violation of FERPA.

Join us for the first CSU-wide Grad Slam on May 6! It's a fast-paced research competition where graduate students present their research in just three minutes or less. (Winners can win up to $1,200). Two of our winners, Nicholas Matthews and Tiffany Gonzalez, will be representing CSULB at the CSU-wide event.

In Memoriam
Christian Soe, a retired faculty member from the Department of Political Science, passed away. He will be greatly missed.
