CSULB Recognized Among Top Universities in Graduating Hispanic Students 

Cal State Long Beach ranked among top institutions in the country for graduating and awarding degrees to Hispanic students, according to The Hispanic Outlook on Education’s 2023 “Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics.” 


Beach President Merits Change Maker Award

President Jane Close Conoley received the Change Maker Award from the nonprofit Pathways to Independence and was awarded at their 27th annual fundraiser, “80s Flashback at The Beach.” 


Geography Department Participates in Groundbreaking Mapping Project 

Professor and chair of CSULB’s geography department, Dr. Suzanne Perlitsh Wechsler, recently led a team of researchers that contributed to an important mapping project highlighting major Native American settlements in Southern California – including Puvunga – and the ancient roads that connected them.  


Business Faculty Selected to Join Renowned Editorial Board 

Professor of Finance and President of Southwestern Finance Association, Dr. Laura Gonzalez, was invited to join the Editorial Board of Managerial Finance. The board provides an international forum for the publication of high quality and topical findings across all areas of financial research. Since 2021, she has also served in the Editorial Board of International Review of Financial Analysis, a leading academic finance journal.
