Tech Day 2019

Eligibility

Students, faculty, staff, auxiliary employees, volunteers, alumni, and guests are eligible for prize giveaways. Entries will be accepted starting Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM PST and ending Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 3:00 PM PST. The prize giveaway is open to anyone entering in good faith. Good faith is defined as a) the entrant supplied contact information for which they have legal access to and rights to use and b) the entrant is factually and accurately representing his/her identity. Further, each entrant may only enter to win one time through each medium – ticket drum, Twitter, Instagram and can win a maximum of one prize. No purchase is necessary. California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is not responsible for lost, stolen, illegible, unreadable, misdirected, or late submissions. With respect to the entry, CSULB assumes no responsibility for computer system, hardware, software or program malfunctions or other errors, failures of any kinds, delayed computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature.

Prizes

CSULB Information Technology Services (ITS) will randomly select multiple prize winners from the ticket drum, Twitter, and Instagram entries.

Winners do not need to be present to win. If winners are not present, they will be contacted by close of business, Tuesday, November 12, 2019 using contact information provided with their prize entry. Winners will have two business days to claim their prizes and provide a valid photo ID. Proof of entry may also be required. Prizes are not negotiable and cannot be exchanged for cash value.

Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute prizes at any time.

Payment of all federal, state, and local taxes will be the sole responsibility of each winner. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form 1099 or the equivalent for prizes totaling $600 or greater in value. Further, winners who are elected and public employees must reference University Policy and Guidelines for reportable gifts and conflict of interest terms (e.g., Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests reporting requirements) to determine applicability.

General Terms and Conditions

All prizes are non-transferable except by CSULB. No substitution or cash equivalent of a prize is permitted; however, CSULB reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equal or greater value. If potential winner’s prize information provided is unintelligible, or winner does not claim the prize within two business days, prize will be forfeited and alternate winner will be selected.

Winners will agree to hold CSULB, affiliated companies, employees, agents, and representatives, harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or giveaway.

Any confusion of or disputes with these rules will be settled by members of the CSULB ITS staff. The rules of this giveaway may change if situations beyond CSULB’s control occur between now and the conclusion of this giveaway.

Rights of Use

By entering the giveaway, entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that a) the entrant supplied valid contact information for which they have legal access to and rights to use; and b) the entrant is factually and accurately representing his/her identity.
