Rafael Nieto

Rafael Nieto is an Emmy and Golden Mike Award-winning television professional with expertise in video production and post production. His industry credits as a producer, Director, Technical Director, Camera Operator and Broadcast Engineer include work for KTTV Fox 11, KVEA Telemundo 52, Galavisión, ABC Sports and KMEX Univisión 34, among others. His production experience includes such diverse programming as the “1984 Summer Olympic Games,” “Good Day L.A.” and “Noticiero Telemundo 52,” as well as the news documentaries “Amor En Tiempos del SIDA” and “César Chávez: Herencia de Un Héroe.”

Mr. Nieto teaches Television Studio Directing in the Department of Cinematic Arts, and Freshmen Orientation for the Educational Opportunity Program at Long Beach State. He has also served as the Line Producer and Technical Supervisor/Editor for Long Beach State’s Latino Faculty and Staff Association live “Sounds of Mariachi” benefit concert and video production in 1995, and as Technical Consultant/Supervisor for Long Beach’s Public Access Digital Network’s “Beach Views” talk shows and “Long Beach Underground” music video shows, as well as the Associated Students, Incorporated’s “TedX Talks” video productions in 2016 and 2018 at The Beach.

Mr. Nieto holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Electronic Arts/Theory and Practice of Film from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from California State University, Fullerton.
