Jonathan Wysocki is a queer writer, director and producer with a focus on independent narrative film.
Wysocki grew up in the theatre and obtained his B.A. in Theatre Arts from UCLA. His theatre creative work and education took him to England, Paris and Zimbabwe. He returned to UCLA for his M.F.A. in Film Production.
As a writer/director, Wysocki has completed 5 award-winning short films. His latest short, A DOLL’S EYES, distributed by Gravitas Ventures, screened on 6 continents and was translated into multiple languages. Wysocki’s feature screenplay ALL FALL DOWN was selected for the Sundance Screenwriters and Directors Labs, where it won the Lynn Auerbach Screenwriting Fellowship as well as two Annenberg Grants.
Wysocki worked in film and TV production for major studios such as MGM and ABC. He was also a feature film programmer at the LA Film Festival. As an independent producer, he produced the features THE HAMMER, distributed by the Weinstein Company, and Samantha Davidson Green’s THRASHER ROAD.
Affiliations and Memberships
Wysocki is a Sundance Institute Fellow, a Project Involve Fellow at Film Independent, and an alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus. He serves a screenwriting advisor for Sundance’s new Co//ab program.
Wysocki is a lecturer at Chapman University as well as here at Cal State Long Beach.
