Federal Aid
The university received federal aid from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund as well as grants related to our status as a Minority-Serving Institution as authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, & Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Coronavirus Response & Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021, and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
A significant portion of this aid was allocated for direct payments to students to help with expenses and loss of income related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The balance of the aid was used to reimburse the university for costs associated with changes to the delivery of instruction and fund other work related to responding to the pandemic.
