An Update on Student COVID-19 News

Published September 21, 2021

Dear students,

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the world and our campus community, we believe it’s critical that our students are up-to-date with our university’s response. These monthly updates will serve as a way for you to be aware of CSULB’s actions, accomplishments, goals, and plans in regards to COVID-19.

  • Currently, 97% of students coming to campus are fully vaccinated. Students who are not fully vaccinated are required to be tested every week.
  • As of Week 4 of the semester, we have recorded very few positive COVID-19 cases among students, staff, and faculty. The number of positive cases have decreased this week especially. We have not had any cluster cases from classroom exposures. If you have been exposed to the virus on campus, you will be contacted and guided on how to proceed. If you are vaccinated, there will be minimal disruption to attending your in-person classes.
  • Thousands of students are completing the pre-screen every day and this is essential to helping the university respond quickly. Please continue to fill out your pre-screen on the days you visit campus and only come if you get a green check mark.

Watch this OneBeach message from CSULB friend and medical expert Dr. Inderpal Randhawa to hear about our campus response and ways you can help reduce the spread of COVID-19. There is still time to be vaccinated for free on campus. Our COVID-19 website has the times and locations listed.

Keep up the great work with mask wearing! This effort has greatly reduced the risk of spreading the virus at CSULB.

Go Beach!
