Throughout the 2019-2020 school year, CSULB College of the Arts partnered with the Downey Foundation for Educational Opportunity (DFEO) in providing afterschool visual arts classes for Downey elementary school students. While the global pandemic required the classes to move to virtual instruction delivery, the classes continued through the end of the CSULB academic year. These are samples of some of the hundreds of works of art created by young Downey artists. Our thanks and gratitude to the Downey Unified School District, DFEO, the individual school sites that participated, and the student artists and their families.
CSULB College of the Arts celebrates all of the work of student artists from Gallatin Elementary School in Downey, CA. These are select works from students who participated in the ArtsBridge project - both in person and virtually - in the first five months of 2020.
