CSULB Design Faculty Receives Prestigious National Digital Design Award

BEHNAZ FARAHI

Behnaz Farahi, Associate Professor in the CSULB Department of Design, has been awarded the 2021 Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum National Digital Design Award.

As an awardee, Behnaz will provide a series of talks and exhibitions for the museum during the coming year. Her work is visually arresting and applies digital interactive materials to experimental clothing and fashion.

The National Design Awards program was launched in 2000 as an official project of the White House Millennium Council, with the goal of increasing awareness and understanding of how design improves everyday life. Presented each year by Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, the awards recognize innovation and impact in design. Nominations are made by the general public, and winners are selected by a diverse jury of design leaders and educators.

Visit the Cooper Hewitt website for further details and a list of all winners and events here.
