Council of Department Chairs

      2. Computer Refresh, college will match departments up to $1200 per computer
      3. New computer tech, Thuy Nguyen starting 3/15/19
      4. CFS will soon require secondary verification, cell phone or fob
    3. Dean's Council Report
      1. Library 3-D lab has already spent all $SOK allocated
      2. 5 hour Beach 2030 workshops available for campus leaders
      3. Parking is losing money, fees will likely go up for students and in contract bargaining
      4. ORSP will cover 50% of Open Access publishing page charges, probably after July 1
  4. Associate Deans
    1. Research
      1. Consider other models for RSCA and assigned time
    2. Graduate Director
      1. Graduate Research/Richard D. Green Fellow ship applications due March 13
      2. Thesis award names are now due on 3/22 which is before thesis submission deadline, award deadline can be extended to 4/20 if necessary
      3. HOGAR, student recruitment scholarships and travel funds available
      4. Active graduate student data was shared
  5. Office Schedules
    1. Need to keep 8 hrs/day schedules, any adjustment would require individual notices of hours worked each day. Opening and closing times can be adjusted within this constraint.
  6. Retreat Follow-up
    1. Position Requests
      1. Due Mar 15 with some guidance on future requests
    2. CSULB data - list of what we want to know how to do.
      1. Requests for extra IR data to be available by end of April
    3. Update major and grad student head counts
      1. Send data to dean
    4. Other items (many will wait until Kris gets back)

    1. Summer stipends for team members
    2. First gen student community
    3. White papers: space, informal gathering places, diversity, faculty deliverables for research, workload
