The CSULB Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies presents the 2025 interdisciplinary conference Afterlives: Reinvention, Reception, and Reproduction, to be held 15 November, 2025 at Forest Lawn Museum in Glendale. This conference explores the many ways that the medieval and renaissance past has been reused and reinterpreted in text, in visual culture, on stage, and on film. Registration is open (Early Registration closes 15 October) and the Conference Program is now available. Participants in this conference get special access to the collections of Forest Lawn with a behind-the-scenes tour led by Museum Director, Dr. James Fishburne. The event also includes a Keynote address by art historian and Disney scholar, Dr. Lauren Kilroy-Ewbank, How Disneyland Pirates the Global Middle Ages and Renaissance. Our day concludes with a Roundtable on California Medievalisms. Please consider joining us for a wonderful day of exchange in one LA's most fascinating venues.
