Faculty Ethics Roundtable
Each fall, faculty are invited to attend a roundtable to discuss ways to enhance the teaching of ethics at CSULB. Faculty can also learn about our pedagogical and research stipend application process at the roundtable.
Faculty Ethics Research Stipends
In 2014, the Ukleja Center began offering $5,000 grants to support faculty ethics research and contributions to the body of knowledge in disciplinary and interdisciplinary ethics. CSULB faculty members are invited to apply for research stipends each spring and proposals are due by March 1. Our 2018-2019 stipends are supporting the following research endeavors:
- Ethical Condsiderations for Engaging Black Populations in Research: A Community Perspective (Dr. Amber Johnson)
- Social Work Provision in the Medical Context (Dr. Suzie Weng)
Student-Driven Ethical Leadership Research Project
The Ukleja Center has recently initiated a new research project to document and explore contemporary ethical leadership dilemmas CSULB students are facing. This project is being led by students under the guidance of the center's Ethics Research Ambassador, Dr. Cheryl Rock. This campus-wide survey will enable us to develop resources and tools to help students with their ethical decision-making. Watch for updates coming soon!
