Achieving Your Wildest Dreams: Transitions from Chief Financial Officer, to Mayor, to Radio Show Host

Radio Show Host/Producer, Former Mayor/Councilmember, Retired Chief Financial Officer

After graduation from CSULB, Wayne worked at a “Big-5” CPA firm for five years. He then became the Controller at one of his entertainment industry clients. Wayne retired after a 25+ year career as a Senior V.P. of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He then was elected and served two terms on the Manhattan Beach City Council, including two terms as Mayor. Concurrently, he was an L.A. County Beach Commissioner for eight years. Wayne transitioned to a radio talk show host when he unexpectedly was offered the opportunity. Five years later, he still enjoys hosting his radio talk show, “Powell to the People”, along with serving on several non-profit boards.
