Jacob Barrera, MPH, spoke at the first Fall 2018 Colloquium held on Sept. 28.When Jacob Barrera, MPH, decided not to be a doctor, his parents pulled their support for his education. But that didn’t stop him. He went on to earn a double major Bachelor’s degree (Psychology and Dance) and continued on to earn a Master’s in Public Health at Harvard.

Year 1 Scholar Madison Kane"The SURGE experience was an eye-opening experience that allowed me to decide if graduate school was really the path that I wanted to embark upon,” said Year 1 Scholar Madison Kane. “After completing SURGE, I knew that I wanted to continue my education after receiving my bachelor's degree."

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, CSULB BUILD hosted a holiday faculty mixer featuring an assortment of delicious spring rolls from Brodard Chateau (Vietnamese); tacos, rice and beans from Holé Molé (Mexican); and Greek salad and kabobs from OPA! (Greek). We had a full house with more than 50 faculty and staff attending. The next mixer will be held on April 11 from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Mark your calendars now, so you won't miss it!
